Damn, it feels awesome to see some more Monsoon Market love! Last week we won ‘Best Place to Buy Something You Don’t Actually Need’ in Phoenix New Times Best of Phoenix 2023. Thank you Phoenix New Times, it’s an honor to have been chosen for one of the best places to shop in the Valley! “This small, charming store is full to the brim with beautiful things that no one could possibly need. There is, for example, a purple psychedelic-patterned oven mitt. A candle shaped like an artichoke. Dice with butterflies etched into the sides. A magazine called Mushroom People…

Monsoon Market named Best of Phoenix!

Wow – it feels so good to see some market love! Last week, Monsoon Market won ‘Best Bodega’ in Phoenix Magazine’s Best of 2023. “Go to Monsoon Market for the rad selection of natural wine, stay for the buzzy snacks (TBH hazelnut-cocoa spread, Momofuku noodles), hip pantry staples (Graza olive oil), vintage home goods, quirky greeting cards and even new and used vinyl. More millennial catnip: Its website is designed to look like a MySpace page.” Thank you Phoenix Magazine, it’s an honor to have been chosen for one of the best places to shop in the Valley! If you…
Monsoon Market owners take over Avanti with friends from Wonderwerk LA with natural wine release party

Event Recap – Marinara Wine Premiere at Avanti!

When our friends Andy and Issamu from Wonderwerk LA called upon us to throw them an epic release party for their new wine, Marinara! … we answered in a big way. By taking over one of the most iconic PHX restaurants located right on McDowell and 28th St, Avanti! It’s a classic Italian joint that’s been around since 1974 and has hosted some of the biggest stars that have rolled through our city. Countless framed photos fill the walls showcasing the many actors, musicians, and presidents shaking hands with the owner Angelo. This place is rock n’ roll! Ask your…

a visit to Folicello winery in Italy!

Our co-founder Misch recently visited Italy and was able to make a trip to Folicello – a favorite wine producer of ours! 🍇 Some brief facts about Folicello: Being familiar with the source of anything we carry @monsoonmrkt is very important and special, so spending time at a family-run, biodynamic farm near Bologna was an amazing experience. Check out this little video of the winery from Misch’s visit to the Motherland as well as some film photos below.

Event Recap – Wayward Taphouse Takeover!

Posted on
Back in February we threw a Monsoon Market takeover party at one of our favorite Phoenix bars, The Wayward Taphouse, for a night of natural wine, music and good vibes! Our wine lineup for the night included Gourmandise from Domaine Ozil, Una Lou rosé from Scribe Winery and Zanotto Rivolto. We also collaborated with Novel Ice Cream next door on some wine+sorbet floats that were absolutely insane! We featured one of our favorite pet-nats, NRG by Wavy Wines, with Cactus Cooler sorbet and Gragnano by Poggio Delle Bacanti with Blackberry Merlot sorbet. The tropical pineapple and orange flavors in the…

Event Recap – Central Records Takeover!

Posted on
Earlier this month we took over our new favorite coffee shop/wine bar/record store, Central Records, for one night to host a private party to premiere the wines for April’s Natty & Nice Wine Club. What made this evening extra special is that Matt Ahern, the winemaker behind Wonderland Ranch, made the trek from Hollywood to Phoenix to come party with us! It’s always a special treat to drink wine with the makers themselves. You can ask them right then and there between sips about their inspiration and process. If you’re interested in learning more about our super dope wine club,…

Monsoon Market goes to LA!

There’s one thing we try not to miss, and it’s a good party. Our friend Andrea of Snaxshot throws the best parties, with the best snacks, obviously, and the coolest guest list. If you don’t know her already, Andrea Hernandez is the Cult Leader of Snaxshot (her Linkedin bio reads) and you can read all about her & the Snaxverse in this Food & Wine article.  She throws a few parties a year where CPG aficionados, snaxbois and brand founders unite, typically in mecca cities like Los Angeles and New York. In 2022 we made it to both the Spring…

Photo Archive – Monsoon is For Lovers Grand Opening

We officially celebrated our grand opening on February 26th, 2022 (a full three months after we opened our doors for the first time). We were letting the market grow organically and we didn’t want to rush this phase. Okay, we were also waiting on our liquor license to clear so that we could introduce natty wine into the shop LOL. When it came to throwing our christening party we rounded up some of the homies who’ve been there since day one, plus a few new friends of ours. It was time to have some fun! We felt like we really…
Monsoon Market bottle of natural wine and thin mint girl scout cookies Phoenix AZ

The Girl Scouts at Monsoon Market

Posted on
We asked our friends, the Girl Scouts, to join us this past Sunday to close out the last weekend of the season for cookies. It was the perfect opportunity to host them during the super poppin’ Wang’s Vintage “Sunny Day Market,” a vintage flea market that happens in our parking lot once a month. With a mixed crowd of market regulars and slightly-stoned teenagers looking to score on some vintage clothing, you can imagine it’s the perfect place for the Girl Scouts to be posted. The girls might be a little young to be hanging around wine shops, but they…

A Dry-ish January recap from your friends at Monsoon Market

Misch here, finally wrapping up Dry January, or “damp Jan.” as we are calling her. Let’s be real, it’s tough to cut out alcohol entirely when you own a natural wine shop. Nevertheless, I did my best to eliminate as much drinking as possible and subbed in some seriously tasty non-alcoholic beverages in place. Luckily, Monsoon Market has the best non-alcoholic beverage selection in Phoenix, tucked inside our little wine store. Although it was tough, our n/a drinks made the challenge a whole lot easier. Let’s dive in (to the n/a section)! Why participate in Dry January? People drink, and…
